Keeping oceans wild, healthy and full of life

MSC, an international not-for-profit on a mission to safeguard seafood for the future, engaged us to help bring their data-driven world to life. We completely reimagined their flagship monitoring & evaluation publication, the Global Impacts report, delivering a fresh look, a series of stories showcasing the people behind the organisation’s eco-label and several impactful and engaging data visualisations.

We also crafted customised infographics and illustrations for social media, the MSC website and a number of other publications.

To coincide with MSC’s 20th anniversary, we researched, wrote, designed and animated a series of interactive and engaging multimedia stories celebrating the passionate people who take care of our oceans. This work was shortlisted for a 2018 Shorthand award, which rewards excellence in immersive storytelling.

EU Commission

Encouraging people to give up smoking

The European Commission's “Ex-Smokers are Unstoppable” initiative helped thousands of smokers across Europe to stub out their last cigarette. When the Commission wanted to better understand and showcase why people smoke and what motivates them to stop, they came to us. We took on the challenge, analysing data from more than 25,000 people across 27 countries and summarising it into a series of highly engaging country briefing reports and infographics.

Earthwatch

Shining a light on the world’s freshwater ecosystems

Earthwatch is an international environmental charity that engages people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. The organisation runs several global research projects, including FreshWater Watch, which empowers citizen scientists to investigate the health of the world’s freshwater ecosystems. With the initiative reaching its fifth birthday, Earthwatch wanted to showcase its many successes. They had a long list of achievements and publications. Together, we took care of the rest.

To highlight the impact of initiative, we worked closely with Earthwatch and project partners WaterAid, WWF and HSBC, to research, write, and produce a global impacts report for FreshWater Watch, before collaborating with a small design team to bring everything to life in a beautifully designed, visually impactful publication.
